Job Summary: Perform
vehicle tire services, repairs, and preventive maintenance on
Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTV) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Principal Accountabilities:
Requires the exercise of experienced judgment and initiative in vehicle tire maintenance and repair.
Provide a safe and reliable vehicle upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance
Management Responsibility:
Inspects
required repair work request prior to performing work. Identifies the
hazards of performing tire removal, repair, and re-installation.
Mandatory use of the tire change steel cage for truck/high pressure tire rim removal and re-installation.
Performs all vehicle tire maintenance and repair using current safety equipment, and procedures.
Ensures all repairs and preventative maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
Performs vehicle servicing and repairs to maintain company standards.
Monitors equipment operation at job site and ensures that proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed.
Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure timely maintenance.
Completes daily reports on all labor and materials expended and used during vehicle tire repair operations. .
Maintains tools and equipments and ensures a safe and clean work area.
Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge & Skills:
Must possess the ability to safely operate vehicles and shop equipment.
Requires
specialized training in recovery operations and equipment repair or
equivalent experience to include operation of vehicle wrecker.
Thorough knowledge of field services recovery equipment operation and maintenance.
Must possess a valid driver�s license.
Must maintain a safe driving record.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required.
Requires flexibility in working hours
Physical Requirements:
Standing for long periods of time (10-12 hours).
Lifting, carrying, and pushing supplies & boxes up to 50 lbs. waist high.
Bending, kneeling, and reaching to store/retrieve supplies.
Living
and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and
uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous
conditions. Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and
under adverse conditions.
Experience: Minimum
three (3) years verifiable experience with hands-on repir of a large
variety of vehicle tires to include heavy truck tires.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
